Cool upcoming indie stuff you should check out (Game edition)
Alright so lowkey I want to procrastinate on my animation since it's a lot of work (Animators when they actually have to animate), and I wanted to blog something.
At first it was going to be the new vince staples album, but I still wanted to form my opinion on it, and also I wanted to do something I had an idea for, for a while now.
I wanted to create a section on my site for shouting out indie projects that is not as big as something like TADC, hollowknight, etc. It was going to include indie animation, games, music, whatever. But here the thing it require coding and time.
one of which I'm not that good at despite having my own site, and the other I can't really provide since I have all my focus on the animation I'm doing for the animation jam. So I decided the next best thing was a blog.
I will make this a series of sort because there are so many indie projects that is incredibly good some rules though, well only one rule.
Which is nothing well known yes Hollowknight, Celeste, etc are indie, but they are so well known it be kind of pointless to bring it up I'm talking about stuff you most likely don't known about
Ivory Shard Card Game (No name from what I seen)
I Made a CARD GAME in 30 Days and Lived to Tell the Tale
So this came about about 10 months ago when Ivory Shard (A pretty funny youtuber that I recommend) created a card game with a pretty unique concept he made it a downloadable free-to-play print game and also had plans to make it a digital game as well.
Im proud to say that he followed through with it the past month he dropped two videos that showcase cutscene that will be in the game, and from what I seen the story mode will be like some sort of point-and-click Stanly Parable which sounds great!
Here are the two cutscenes that will be in the game and it seems great, as well as including his sense of humor that's common in his videos.

There is a play test, but it's only for patreon members, but there will be a public demo soon. This game game looks great and the card game seems simple, yet incredibly deep.
Fish
Yea this is certainly a trailer, this just dropped on my youtube recommendation one day, what that say about me I don't know. But from what I saw it looks like some sort of fast pace 2D movement based shooter with a lot of different weapons, and you play as a fish.
The artstyle is unique as it mostly use images and memes it found on the internet.
Honestly for how batshit insane this game look it also seems like a really solid and promising game that can not only offer a incredibly bizarre experience, but also something that is fun.

I'm not that big into traditional fighters mostly because I'm not that good, but I can't deny they are entertaining as all hell to watch, and this game is no different.
This game fighting roster will mostly feature stereotypical fighting game archetypes and the characters already showcase that we have.

There is no other perfect starting roster for a game like this.
The artstyle is also incredibly charming as hell it's goofy, yet also is incredibly clear for what move are the characters doing. The character designs while incredibly simple is still pretty god as well as being clear, The animation is also great as well super bouncy, but not so much that it looks like a mess.
All of this is important for a fighting game as it allow for the opponent to react to moves and make it fair for both sides. Also the sun is the highlight of this game. The sun should be the secret final boss I want to kill the sun as a girl >:(.
Also just like any fighters there are some insane combos, people are already finding out combos and doing crazy stuff. There are a lot of videos showcasing this and I don't want to fill this blog with ten thousand videos so I recommend just searching "Generic Fighting Game Combos" on youtube to truly see what I mean.

Alright this is where the blog ends. Truth be told I was going to include 4 more game, but I couldn't include any more links, besides 2 of them didn't really fit the post. There are honestly so much indie stuff I come across on the internet from games, shows, music, films, webcomics, even youtubers, that I love and want more people to know about. I will definitely do this more.
I also strongly recommend to do this for any indie stuff you come across. If you're like me and don't have the money to support them financially, and you love their stuff. Shouting them out with blogs or telling them to friends is a good way to do so. Like a friend of mines did with a game he loves
I played it and love it even though I still got to beat it, This also was one of the game I was going to include, but didn't for the reasons stated above.
