I feel that the internet gotten too close

An idea been running through my mind lately which is how close the internet gotten and how I feel that the internet should be more separated.

This sounds counterintuitive asking for the everybody to be more broken apart seems weird, but the reason I say so is because when we have everybody into one space it just leads to a bad time for everybody.

There's a saying that trying to please everybody pleases nobody and I feel the same thing can be said for internet spaces/community. Group A will want different things in a space, then Group B, and if those two groups have conflicting beliefs you will end up in a lot of shit.

Take Shitter Twitter for example the site tries to be this site for everybody, but in the end pleases nobody and just leaves everybody in an awful mood.

This is where the idea of more spaces come in as instead of having to deal with people outside of your group who have complete different ideals to you, you have a group that you can be yourself in.

There's the argument that having separate spaces can lead to echo chambers, but honestly I strong disagree for a couple of reasons

A. Even with how connected the internet is with everybody using the same few sites there are still echo chambers.

B. The vast majority of folks aren't really looking for debates, they just want to talk about the stuff they like without any stress.

C. If you're looking for different ideas/viewpoints there is nothing really stopping you from finding it in blogs/forums

D. People in these more smaller groups still have different thoughts it just that usually there is something connecting them, that allows them to accept said different viewpoints.

Lastly just imagine how cool it would be. Example I'm into animation, imagine a forum for just animators across all skill level to talk about animation, share tip/tricks, discuss the different forms of animation, share what they're working on, etc.

Imagine any group/thing having a space tailored to their own needs without having to compromise on anything.

From what I heard of the old internet small groups was there in the form of forums, blogs, and newsletter, it just slowly been replaced by the digital equivalent of a cramped apartment building where the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything the neighbors are doing.

Luckily it does seem like these smaller spaces still does exist which I'm honestly glad for and I hope the trend continues of having more people create small spaces.

Anyway what's your thoughts, do you agree? disagree? indifferent? I want to hear. You can reach out to me Via email. (Also located on the main page)
